Gardenia loves light but away from the hot rays of direct sunlight however it needs enough natural light. It needs frequent watering in the summer but much less in the winter. Gardenia does not like frost so, for temperatures below zero, put it in a bright place inside the house but away from heating sources (radiators, stoves, etc.).
